Superlinked
SIE (Superlinked Inference Engine), an open-source server and hosted API that runs small open models for embeddings, reranking, OCR, extraction, classification, guardrails and chat behind one API.
About Superlinked
Sending every agent task, from embedding and reranking to PDF parsing and PII redaction, to a frontier LLM is slow and expensive, while running a separate model server per task is hard to operate.
Who it’s for
- AI teams moving search, RAG and extraction workloads from frontier LLMs to task-specific open models
- Platform teams that want to self-host many models on one Kubernetes cluster in their own cloud
When to consider it
Consider Superlinked when you want one OpenAI-compatible API for 100+ open models (embeddings, ColBERT, rerankers, OCR, GLiNER extraction, Whisper, Qwen) that you can call serverless or self-host under Apache 2.0 with Helm and autoscaling configs.
Tradeoffs & limitations
- SIE Serverless is pay per call and starts with $20 of free credits, no credit card required; managed in-cluster deployment backed by Superlinked engineers (Native inference) is sales-led.
- The self-hosted engine is free under Apache 2.0, but you supply the hardware: native installs need Python 3.12 on macOS (Apple Silicon) or Linux, GPU serving uses NVIDIA CUDA Docker images, and production clusters run on Kubernetes.
