About WeKnora
Team knowledge is spread across PDFs, Office files and tools such as Feishu, Confluence, Notion or GitLab, and plain chat search over it gives answers that are hard to check and keep current.
Who it’s for
- Engineering teams self-hosting a document Q&A and knowledge-management system with their own choice of models and vector stores
- Organisations that want to answer questions from shared knowledge bases inside WeCom, Feishu, Slack or Telegram, or expose them to Cursor and Claude via MCP
When to consider it
Consider WeKnora when you want a self-hosted, MIT-licensed RAG system with citations, data-source sync and workspace permissions, and you also want an agent and wiki working on the same knowledge bases.
Tradeoffs & limitations
- Self-hosting means running several services with Docker Compose or Kubernetes and configuring models, storage and networking yourself; optional features such as the knowledge graph (Neo4j), object storage (MinIO) and Langfuse tracing are separate profiles.
- WeKnora’s own code is MIT-licensed, but the licence file also lists bundled third-party components under their own licences, which is why GitHub reports the licence as NOASSERTION. Tencent’s hosted option is the WeChat Dialog Open Platform; the official pages do not publish its pricing.
