Speakeasy
A platform that generates type-safe SDKs, Terraform providers, CLIs and MCP servers from an OpenAPI document.
About Speakeasy
Hand-writing and maintaining client libraries, a Terraform provider and an MCP server for every API change takes ongoing engineering time.
Who it’s for
- API teams that publish SDKs for TypeScript, Python, Go, Java, C#, PHP or Ruby
- Teams that want an MCP server or Terraform provider generated from their existing OpenAPI spec
When to consider it
Consider Speakeasy when you already maintain an OpenAPI 3.0/3.1 spec and want idiomatic SDKs, a Terraform provider or a TypeScript MCP server regenerated from it instead of written by hand.
Tradeoffs & limitations
- The free tier generates one SDK with up to 50 API methods; new accounts get a 14-day trial of the Business tier, and prices for the paid SDK tiers are not listed on the current pricing page.
- The Speakeasy CLI is published under the Elastic License 2.0, a source-available licence rather than an open-source one.
- The MCP server generator produces a TypeScript server, and the company's homepage and pricing page now focus on its separate AI Control Plane product.
